Shareholders Agreements

Shareholders Agreements in Leicester, Leicestershire and nationwide

A shareholders’ agreement is often used to set out terms governing issues with a limited company.

The shareholders’ agreement is a contract between all or some of the shareholders, and so can deal with all aspects of the relationship between them. These can include:

  • the transfer of shares
  • selling shares
  • directorships
  • what happens on the death of a shareholder
  • restrictive covenants on the shareholders
  • confidentiality
  • dealing with deadlock situations

The shareholders agreement is usually drafted by a company law solicitor who takes instructions from the company’s shareholders.

At Hollingsworths Solicitors, we can help with drafting the shareholders agreement and advising the shareholders on their options under company law. This will include reviewing the articles of association and memorandum of the company.
