A Statutory Demand is a 21 day demand for payment. It can be served on an individual or a limited company.

Non-payment by the debtor (the party receiving the Statutory Demand) can lead to the issuing of a Bankruptcy Petition (if the party receiving the Statutory Demand is an individual) or a Winding Up Petition (if the party receiving the Statutory Demand is a limited company).
