Building & Construction

Building and construction is a sector where disputes frequently surface  - both with domestic builders carrying out one-off home extensions through to main contractors working on large commercial projects.

In the case of domestic contracts, paperwork is often very limited and issues can arise around delays in completing work, defective workmanship, extras (sometimes s described as variations) and refusals by the builder or sub-contractor to finish the job.

In commercial arrangements, contracts are often more complex, and standard form contracts such as  the JCT - Joint Contracts Tribunal - model, may have been adopted.  Time limits often apply following the making of payment notices and these must be responded to promptly and in a set format.

At Hollingsworths we have years of experience in advising on disputes in building and construction.  So, whether  you're a home owner who is unhappy with the quality of workmanship  on your garage conversion, or you're a main contractor in contractual dispute with a sub-contractor over a development, we can help.
